The NZHIA iHemp Discovery & Investment Tour 2022

This pioneering industry is on the edge of incredible growth. We’re looking for farmers, growers, entrepreneurs and businesses who want to discover how to invest, upskill and become part of Aotearoa New Zealand’s next billion-dollar economy.

The objective of the tour is to bring understanding to business owners on how they can incorporate industrial hemp – seed and natural fibre – into their business model, to create a market for hemp products.

The demand “pull” will help farmers and primary processors to create the “push” by recognising that there is a market for their products. The call to action will be to join the iHemp industry community, to invest/engage and work, with the industry to specifically develop processing capacity and products that meet a pain point for consumers.

The Discovery & Investment Tour audience will be business owners in the construction, food and associated industries, plus hapu and farmers interested in alternative land use and phytoremediation.

Commencing on 8 June 2022, the Tour will travel from Whangārei to Gore hosting meetings in town halls, universities and smaller hui and workshops, with the specific outcome of connecting with interested parties and identifying the regional strengths, resources and opportunities available to this emerging primary industry.
