The Hemp Event!

Date - 08/31/2018
Time - 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Join us as we build the first commercial hempcrete space in New York. We will be casting 70 cubic feet of hempcrete into two walls @ 426 Exchange Place in Geneva, NY.

What to expect:

There will be live music, food trucks (pizza posto), and all hands on deck as we teach volunteer labor how to mix and cast hempcrete!

What is hempcrete:

Hempcrete is an insulating material made from the wooden core of the hemp plant. Used for their desirable moisture and temperature regulating properties, hempcrete walls are also a highly efficient carbon sink that removes CO2 from the atmosphere during the growth cycle of the plant and the solidification of the wall. There are fewer than 20 permitted hempcrete structures in the United States.

What to bring:

If you plan to get your hands dirty and work with hempcrete, please make sure you bring gloves and long sleeves!
