Discover The Hemplands | Hunt-Morgan House (Gratz Park)

Join us as we kick-off Discover The Hemplands at the Hunt-Morgan House in Lexington. This historic home was built for John Wesley Hunt in the early 19th century. Hunt was a pioneer in the manufacturing of hemp bagging, and also made a fortune as a commission merchant. Click here to learn more about John Wesley Hunt and his hemp connection. Today, the home is preserved and maintained by the Blue Grass Trust for Historic Preservation (BGT). We are excited to include the Hunt-Morgan Home on the Heritage Hemp Trail, in addition to many BGT properties located in the Gratz Park/Historic Downtown Lexington district. Trail maps include a walking tour around the area highlighting hemp history.
